Are you concerned about your child's worries?
Is your child anxious, sad, or angry?
Are you thinking that your child should "be over this by now?"
Are you struggling with issues from your own childhood?

Children have many worries and fears. Some of these come from traumatic experiences. Others come from what adults might call minor annoyances or setbacks. Because children are not little adults, they sometimes aren't able to process and recover from life events as well as an adult might. Often, therapy is an option to help your child cope with his/her experiences and be able to lead a healthy, successful life.

In the same way, traumas that happen during childhood can still haunt the adult today.  When distressing events were never addressed or fully processed at the time they occurred, they can manifest into many symptoms as a person grows.  Adult relational problems, performance issues, parenting struggles, sleeping/eating concerns, etc. often are rooted in negative childhood experiences.  Getting support can resolve these issues and lift the weight that has been there for years.

I have been working with children and families for 12+ years resolving trauma (child abuse, domestic violence, divorce, etc), concerns around divorcing or blending families, general behavior problems, parent-child conflict, etc. I work with children as young as 2 years, through the teen years. I also work with parents and individual adults.

Play is the language of children. When working with children and families, I often use play therapy to fully resolve the presented issues. I also use EMDR with children, teens, and adults. I have a cognitive behavioral theoretical background but use a variety of techniques to match each client uniquely.
Children are our most precious resource and now is the time to make sure they will be able to be a productive part of our future.
